Swank Stems, Award Winning Floral Design!

Congratulations to the talented and gracious Nicole Iverson of Swank Stems for winning “Best Event Design / Décor with a Budget of over $25,000” at the second annual International Special Event Society, or ISES, Denver IDEA Awards.

Her elegant design was for a private Christmas party held in December 2009. The untraditional color palate allowed her design to subtly imply winter wonderland. Rich jewel tones and glitzy accents transformed the room into a unique and warm holiday space.

I Do, Re Do

One of the biggest celebrity wedding trends in recent years has been the renewing of vows. Trendsetters Heidi Klum and Seal have been renewing their vows annually since they were first married in 2005. Many more celebs have hopped on the bandwagon, either renewing their vows annually, to mark a significant anniversary or even to squash rumors of marital troubles. While some of these vow renewal ceremonies seem to be nothing but a ploy to get publicity or ratings for a reality show, a vow renewal is actually a very sweet and romantic event.

A vow renewal is a way to publicly or privately reaffirm and recommit to one another. It can be as intimate as just the two of you or a lavish affair with your family and friends present. Taking the time to revisit your original vows and celebrate your enduring love and progress as a couple will help you and your partner reconnect and look back fondly on how far you have come.  So take a cue from our celebrity counterparts! You don’t need to host a giant event to revisit your original wedding vows and remember the love, excitement and anticipation you felt on your wedding day. No matter how long you’ve been married, you and your beloved have a lot of love and life to celebrate!

Real Wedding Sneak Peek

The lovely Kelly Karli, of Frosted Pink Weddings was kind enough to give us a photo teaser of a current wedding project.  The July nuptials will be held at the historic Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado.  The Stanley is famous for it’s beautiful Georgian architecture, striking red roof and of course, it’s haunted reputation.

The couple loves the rich and storied history of the Stanley hotel and plans to have a surprise guest appear at the wedding, only time will tell if it is the twins or the ghost Delbert Grady. With deep red roses, touches of black, dramatic candelabras and hints of shimmer Michael Roffino of Denver Design Works created a romantic renaissance design with classic “goth” touches. The décor reflects the couple’s love of classic design and the gothic accents are appropriate for the allegedly haunted wedding venue.

Take a cue from this couple and have fun with your wedding planning! Remember, all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.
